Kelly Green Trio Volume One
Kelly Green Quartet Elijah J. Thomas flute

Based in New York City, the Kelly Green Quartet is a tight-knit ensemble featuring Kelly Green as a pianist and vocalist, alongside dedicated rhythm section—drummer Evan Hyde and bassist Luca Soul Rosenfeld. In 2022 they welcomed the incredibly talented  flautist and composer, Elijah J. Thomas, into their musical family.

The Kelly Green Quartet's repertoire is a reflection of the rich tapestry of American music, deeply rooted in the traditions of blues and jazz. They showcase a diverse range of musical offerings, including Green's original compositions that grapple with themes such as spirituality and mental health.

When selecting pieces from the jazz canon, both well-known and more obscure, Green prioritizes those that narrate tales of hope, self-acceptance, vulnerability, and the imaginative exploration of new horizons. Green's arrangements are intricately woven around the essence of the lyrics and the stories they convey.

Each song in their repertoire holds a personal significance, aligning with the band's overarching mission. They are passionate about using our music not only to entertain but also to educate, inspire, and unite. Through their engaging performances and deep personal connections, they aim to epitomize unity through the profound acts of listening and trust. They invite their audience to immerse themselves in their world, where their differences are celebrated as strengths.

In the transformative journey of experiencing their music, listeners are transported into a shared vision of a harmonious reality, where togetherness knows no bounds.

The Kelly Green Quartet has been awarded the South Arts/Jazz Roads Touring Grant for their upcoming California tour in July generously funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation with additional support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation!
