Things are not as they seem.
With a closer look, all are one.
I am multiple things (a vocalist, pianist, composer, arranger, lyricist, bandleader), though I feel that they are all just parts of the same expressive force. This album serves as an opportunity for everyone to take a closer look.
I take pride in being a highly engaging performer. To me, it is of equal importance to be a great musician as it is to present a cohesive and dynamic set of music and provide context and backstory to an audience. I’ve constructed this album in the same way that I do a live set. I enjoy playing instrumental songs as well as vocal songs and I think that this keeps the listener interested and engaged. I also enjoy playing music that covers a lot of the different styles and sensibilities that fall under the umbrella of Jazz, ranging from straight ahead swinging to avant-garde.
Our mission is to embody unity. Our music aims to dispel the illusion of separateness between sects of people, humans and the natural world, and styles of music. Things are not always as they seem.
The seams of a quilt are where different pieces of fabric meet - a meeting point where the beauty is in the contrast.
With our music and personal relationships, we seek to exemplify togetherness through listening and trust, transporting the listener into our world, where our differences are our strengths. When listeners allow themselves to be immersed in our vision of how reality can be, it can become our shared vision.
